Job Description

Position is eligible for a market stipend of $5,000.00 (may be prorated based on start date)

Responsibilities
  • Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Ensure student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and schools.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Demonstrate gains in student performance.
  • Participate in professional growth training.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification with approved area/endorsement as needed for position.
  • Must be appropriately certified in subject area of position at time of hire.
  • Must have SEI or equivalent endorsement on Certificate or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must have Special Education Certificate.
  • No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.
  • IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.
