- Ensure and maintain an attractive, organized, stimulating, functional, healthy, safe, and nurturing Library Media Center that encourages student responsibility and uses positive motivation, challenging instructional strategies, effective management techniques, and appropriate displays and exhibits, with proper attention to the visual and acoustic environments.
- Prepare, recommend, and operate a budget for the Library Media Center.
- Establish appropriate liaisons with state, county, and local libraries, including but not limited to spelling bee, geography bee, Battle of the Books, etc.
- Coordinate special events such as book fairs and reading incentive programs.
- Work effectively with adults assigned to the Library Media Center (e.g., teachers, student teachers, parents, and volunteers), establishing clear expectations for roles and responsibilities, exhibit outstanding teacher support and collaboration, and supervise a media specialist aide.
- Collaboratively plan and deliver technology-integrated lessons with classroom teachers to support technology across the curriculum, both in the lab and in the classroom.
- Select and use appropriate technology to support content-specific learning outcomes.
- Assist in designing and implementing professional development in technology integration for school staff.
- Coordinate the relationship between school curriculum and technology skills.
- Incorporate and maintain appropriate digital resources for students and teachers in lesson planning.
- Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies and standards.
- Assist in developing the District Technology Plan.
- Continuously grow professionally through collaboration with colleagues and professional growth experiences.
- Maintain an understanding of the school’s instructional program and the expectations of the Core Curriculum Content Standards and assessment requirements.
- Support school programs and initiatives as time allows.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must hold valid Arizona Teacher Certification with Media Specialist Endorsement as needed for the position.
- Must have an SEI or equivalent endorsement on Certificate or be able to obtain one within six (6) months of hire.
- Valid IVP Finger Print Clearance Card.
- No convictions for felonies or crimes against children.

The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:
- Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff, including the exchange of accurate information.

- Remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time, either standing or sitting.
- Often raise objects from a lower to a higher position, a higher to a lower position, or horizontally weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally required to position the body by bending downward and forward by the waist.
- Require close visual acuity to perform activities including preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
