Overview
The Skilled Trades & Technology Division is seeking adjunct faculty to teach online, hybrid, or face‑to‑face courses in the following areas:
- Heavy Equipment Operator
- Construction Technology (preferably with concrete experience, Signal Peak Campus)
- Welding (Signal Peak Campus)
- Welding (Surprise Enterprise Center)
- Manufacturing (Signal Peak Campus)
- Electrical (Apache Junction Campus)
- Diesel Technology
- Teach assigned classes in accordance with college policy and in a variety of modalities (face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, Interactive Television, Weekend College, accelerated, evening, or late start) on any campus, site or center as directed.
- Provide and present information through lecture, laboratory, recitation, seminars and other learning venues, utilizing a variety of teaching/learning styles as appropriate.
- Employ assessment tools, evaluate grades and comment on student work in a timely fashion to facilitate student progress.
- Communicate with students via email, LMS discussions, virtual chats, instant messaging, telephone, or face‑to‑face consultations, giving frequent feedback and referring to services when needed.
- Inform students of availability outside of scheduled class time.
- Maintain records of student progress and complete required reports on time.
- Develop, prepare, and evaluate instructional materials as required.
- Write and develop syllabi and course calendars in accordance with college policy.
- Review and update course outlines and syllabi, and provide input on text selection when appropriate.
- Collaborate with division chair, program director, faculty and other programs to maintain curriculum integrity.
- Assist in recruitment and retention of students through instructional strategies.
- Recognize college mission and promote a positive professional environment that supports student success and community relations.
- Attend and participate in professional development activities.
- Cultivate knowledge of instructional programs, pedagogy, and new technologies.
- Participate in the evaluation process as defined by policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in any field and 3 years work experience in the discipline.
- Associate’s degree in any field and 5 years work experience in the discipline.
- License or recognized certification in the discipline or subfield and 5 years work experience.
- 64 semester credit hours in the discipline and 5 years work experience.
Adjunct Faculty rate for the 2025‑2026 Academic Year: $900.00 per credit hour.
