Certification Notes: Applicants need to hold a valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate – Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies or be in the process of receiving one.
Purpose StatementThe job of Teacher-Career and Technical Education is for the purpose of instructing students in various career and technical subjects, such as agricultural science, automotive technologies, family and consumer sciences, business and computers, engineering, digital media, industrial trades, healthcare, and technical theatre. They teach academic and tutorial content to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become college and career ready.
They also provide Career and Technical Student Organization supervision. Specifically this position will teach a specified Career Technical Education (CTE) class for grades 9 – 12 in welding technologies including but not limited safety and health of welders, project blueprint, metal ARC welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW equipment, thermal cutting equipment, perform weldment testing, use of auxiliary equipment and tools.
Lead hands‑on activities to reinforce concepts.

USA). - Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders.
- Participate in recruitment needs for program.
- Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students within the district curriculum.
- Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives.
- Creates a weekly written lesson plan describing daily learning experiences – this weekly lesson plan is to be correlated with the aims and/or objectives in the curriculum guide and/or course outline.
- Monitors and assesses student progress in order to provide feedback on a regular basis to students and their parents.
- Diagnoses, instructs and evaluates specific student needs and seeks assistance of district specialists as required.
- Communicates aims and/or objectives to students in a well‑planned, organized manner using clear and precise language.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior.
- Develops and implements reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner.
- Creates educational experiences that provide each student with the opportunity to develop his/her potential in the areas of personal‑social adjustment, decision‑making, positive self‑image and other life skills.
