Position: Trainer (Mortgage Industry)

Summary

The Trainer is responsible for delivering and assisting with the training programs that will improve the effectiveness and success of our employees. The Trainer will conduct regular training activities to ensure compliance with company policies and laws with a focus on the development of new employees.

Essential Job Functions
  • Help develop, facilitate, revise and maintain training curriculum including face‑to‑face and virtual trainings, recorded trainings, presentations, quizzes, training materials, checklists and job aides.
  • Ensure accuracy and relevance of all curriculums.
  • Provide training to all new hires to properly integrate them into VIP as it relates to core company applications and their role.
  • Provide exceptional on‑going support to new and existing team members.
  • Provide ongoing training on existing applications, new applications and updates as provided by leadership.
  • Support departmental initiatives and identify ways to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Explore new ideas for improved workflow and efficiency enhancements.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company by identifying ways to continuously improve the learning process.
  • Assist with the ongoing administration of the VIP Learning Management System, monitor attendee training course completion and communicate to senior leaders.
  • Keep the learning management system courses up to date and troubleshoot issues with the LMS.
  • Consult with Subject Matter Experts as needed when developing new training curriculum.
  • Monitor and respond to the training queue in a timely manner and solve end‑user issues.
  • Keep company intranet up to date with training materials.
  • Escalate ongoing training concerns to leadership.
  • Proactively work with branches to assess group or individual training needs.
  • Be able to design and implement training solutions.
  • Take personal responsibility to complete training tasks and solve problems.
  • Keep up to date with mortgage lending practices.
  • Keep current on VIP policies, procedures, and processes along with core company applications for optimal training and onboarding experience.
  • Represent V.I.P. Mortgage professionally while conducting training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma.
  • Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending, processes and procedures preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Encompass LOS preferred.
  • Versed in basic mortgage compliance and loan programs such as Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and Bond.
  • Prior training experience preferred.
  • Passionate about helping others.
  • Committed to excellence, strong work ethic and takes pride in their work.
  • Customer service driven, strong sense of urgency.
  • Solutions focused.
  • Team player and self‑starter, able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional facilitation, presentation and listening skills.
  • Able to train in person and virtual training courses.
  • Comfortable presenting to large and small audiences.
  • Highly proficient in time management, organization, planning and prioritization in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System a plus.
  • Experience with Go To Meeting /Got To Webinar  a plus.
  • Experience with Camtasia, Snag It and Wistia a plus.
  • Travel required when necessary.

  • Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
