Purpose StatementThe job of Paraprofessional Specialist
- Behavioral- HQ Title I is to assist in the emotional, social, and behavioral support of our students. This will include but not be limited to the students' classroom. The Paraprofessional will be trained in CPI verbal de escalation and other social emotional support.
- Support classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the classroom teacher to maximize student learning.
- Support the classroom teacher, student, and parent in maximizing student learning. Liaison between all parties involved.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to students in the moment of escalation.
- Supports students as may be required for the completion of their academic, behavioral, and social activities.
- Attends meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
- Consults with administration, certified staff and support staff regarding specific student needs.
- Assists with lunchtime recess supervision.

Sufficient to read and write technical information and instructions, perform basic arithmetic calculations, understand commonly used procedures and methods, or operate equipment that requires some training. Learning development is equivalent to the completion of a high school curriculum. - Problem Solving
