Purpose Statement

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive academic support through monitoring student performance, facilitating communication between stakeholders, implementing targeted interventions, and organizing programs to ensure student success and engagement.

Essential Functions

Communication & Support Online Students

  • Onboard and register all online students
  • Communicate between teachers, students, parents, and counselors for full‑time and part‑time online students
  • Contact parents of students who are struggling or unengaged (especially Tier 2 and Tier 3 students)
  • Facilitate communication of strategies with online teachers
  • Send reminders and newsletters to parents, students, and teachers
  • Monitor student academic progress
  • Monitor attendance weekly reports and set up meetings for audit letters

Identify and refer students to Canyon Valley

  • Track grades and meet with academically struggling students
  • Monitor attendance and conduct audits (focus on 14‑day absences)
  • Monitor Tier 2 and Tier 3 student groups with regular check‑ins and meetings
  • Help students build academic success systems (time management, study skills, organization, etc.)

Intervention System

  • Follow the Tier System of Intervention
  • Use academic intervention forms via the HUB
  • Focus on skill acquisition and peer tutoring as interventions
  • Address underlying issues such as academic apathy and social‑emotional factors
  • Setup peer tutoring schedule (work with NHS, Key Club, etc.)
  • Create and update a Tier 3 list of students
  • Schedule regular student meetings, tutoring sessions, and Tier 3 meetings
  • Coordinate with teachers and make phone calls to support online teachers

  • Assist other personnel to support them in completing their work activities
