Job Description

Employment Type: Full-time

Base Salary: $58,000.00

Additional $5,400 in stipends + $3,740 CTE stipend available depending on meeting district requirements (prorated based on FTE and start date)

Calendar: Certified, teachers new to district 203 workdays, returning teachers 201 workdays

Benefits: PTO, holidays, matched retirement through the Arizona State Retirement System, health and life insurance, wellness, professional growth credit

Performance Pay: Available annually

$400 for each full‑time year of certified teaching or verified experience in the last 10 years, max $2,800;
National Board Certification $3,000 annually

$1,250 for advanced degrees + $80/hour of graduate level credits: BA up to 96 hours, MA up to 96 hours, $500 for additional advanced degrees beyond Master’s

Job Goal

The Classroom Teacher guides students toward achieving their full potential by transforming district curriculum standards into engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through effective instruction and specialized assignments, the teacher promotes academic growth and personal development. This role upholds Chandler Unified School District’s mission and vision by fostering an equitable, safe, and supportive learning environment that challenges and empowers all learners.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate – Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Degree in education and/or industry experience as it relates to Automotive Technologies
  • Experience with Career and Technical Education desired
  • Industry Credentials in Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) series certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on experience with industry tools and machines
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional practices that support student‑centered learning
Core Job Functions
  • Communicates learning goals to students in a well‑planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
  • Prepares and delivers instruction appropriate to the student population, including curriculum that addresses learning styles, abilities, interests, behavior problems, and students with special needs
  • Creates lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with approved curriculum and State and District standards
  • Uses available technology to enhance learning
  • Uses district and state assessment data to improve instruction and place students in appropriate instructional and intervention programs
  • Facilitates instruction based on current research‑based best practices
  • Effectively implements Individual Education Plans
  • Establishes classroom routines to promote a positive environment conducive to effective instruction
  • Participates in team reviews concerning the academic progress of low‑performing students
  • Documents and resolves issues related to student behavior problems and attendance
  • Reflects on teaching and strives to improve professional competence
  • Assumes legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school‑sponsored activities
  • Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Maintains accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
  • Participates in the intervention process at sites
  • Participates in school‑wide events, scheduled meetings, and parent conferences
  • Participates in school and District initiatives
  • Assumes individual responsibilities that may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision, or other planning and professional assignments
  • Meets any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the District or school site
