Monitor students in a self‑contained classroom and provide behavioral and instructional support.
Responsibilities- Monitor students as they perform assignments prepared by the classroom teacher
- Maintain a structured, orderly environment
- Maintain accurate attendance records
- Process intake and release forms
- Monitor students for on‑task behavior and alert the teacher to any problems or special information about a student
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
- Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
- Accept responsibility for students’ well‑being and safety while they are in the employee’s care
- Be alert to and report any substance use, child abuse, or dangerous situations based upon daily observation
- Assist in maintaining a quiet and orderly classroom environment
- Operate and care for the school district’s equipment properly
- Follow district policies as outlined
- Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AA degree or 60 semester credit hours or successful completion of an Arizona state‑approved competency exam
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including all Microsoft Office and Google programs
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
- Respond to all internal and external customers in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner

- Maintain courteous, cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and parents

- Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting.
- The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability.
- Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
- The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
