This posting is for three 7 hour Paraprofessional Technician positions. Position length: 9 month, hourly rate $16.81 and up depending on experience, hours per day: 7, job grade 107.

Instructional paraprofessionals assigned to a school wide Title I campus become eligible for a supplemental financial incentive once required highly qualified status has been verified by the Office of Federal Programs.
Purpose StatementThe job of Paraprofessional Technician is to assist in the supervision and instruction of mildly to moderately disabled special needs students under the supervision of a certificated teacher; observe and document student progress; implement plans for instruction; and assist students by providing for special health care needs.
Essential Functions- Adapt classroom activities, assignments, and/or materials under the direction of the teacher to provide opportunities for all special education students to participate in classroom activities.
- Assist related services personnel as required for carryover of physical occupation or speech therapy routines and/or strategies as directed by the appropriate therapist.
- Assist special education students one on one with classroom and daily living skills (e.g., toileting, diapering) to create a positive plan of action to address specific student issues and help them process behaviors.
- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies to reinforce skills and materials based on individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Implement academic instruction assigned by a teacher for individuals or small groups to meet learning goals as described by an IEP and/or district benchmarks.
- Implement behavioral plans designed by the IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other handicapping conditions to assist in meeting special education student needs and provide a consistent environment.
- Instruct special education students (e.g., math groups, reading, behavioral skills, daily living skills, writing, verbal skills) to implement goals and ensure student success.
- Maintain instructional materials and/or student files/records (e.g., adapting instructional materials, checking papers, attendance, audio visual equipment, setting up projects, behavior point sheets) to ensure availability of items and provide reliable information.
- Monitor special education students (e.g., lunch, playground, classroom, field trips) to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participate as a provider in recording, reporting, and gathering data for the Direct Service Claiming program to meet DSC requirements.
- Perform record keeping (daily data on instruction and/or behavior) and clerical functions (e.g., correcting papers, copying, instructional materials) to support the teacher in providing necessary records and materials.
- Respond to emergency situations (e.g., injured student, fights) to resolve immediate safety concerns.
- Work closely with teachers and staff as appropriate to assist in evaluating special education student progress, implementing IEP objectives, and identifying resources.
- Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information related to job functions.
- Mental Requirements
- Learning Development – Level B:
Sufficient to read and write technical information and instructions, perform basic arithmetic calculations, understand commonly used procedures and methods, or operate equipment that requires training. Equivalent to completion of a high school curriculum. - Problem Solving – Level 1:
Work situations are routine and regularly recurring, requiring attention and concentration, but limited discretion, consideration, and planning.
