Substitute Teacher (K-12)
The job of Substitute Teacher (K-12) is done for the purpose of assuming the normal duties of the classroom teacher. Essential functions include reporting to the building principal, maintaining established routines, teaching lesson plans, performing extra duties, creating a conducive learning environment, maintaining records, adhering to professional conduct, and demonstrating knowledge of technology. Substitute teachers must be willing to become licensed and possess a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Mental requirements include learning development, problem solving, physical requirements include basic physical skill and minimal physical exertion, and social requirements include human relations skills and limited scope of contacts. Experience in teaching is desired, but not required. Education must include a bachelor's degree, and certifications must include a valid Arizona Substitute Certificate or Standard Professional Teacher Certificate.
