Instructional Assistant
The job of Instructional Assistant is done for the purpose of working with individual and/or small groups of students under the supervision of a certificated teacher in the supervision and instruction of students; and providing clerical support to teacher/s and staff. Essential functions include assisting students with lesson assignments, implementing instructional programs and lesson plans, maintaining classroom equipment and student files, monitoring students in various settings, performing general record keeping and clerical functions, and promoting good habits.
Other functions may include assisting other personnel and attending meetings and in-service presentations.
Job requirements include sufficient learning development to read and write technical information, perform basic arithmetic calculations, and understand commonly used procedures and methods. Problem solving is routine and regularly recurring, requiring attention and concentration but limited discretion and planning. Physical requirements include basic physical skill and minimal physical exertion. Social requirements include ordinary conversational skills and courtesy to exchange routine information and provide routine assistance.
Experience related to the job is desired, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is necessary while employed.
