Media Assistant
The job of Media Assistant is done for the purpose of assisting in maintaining library collection at the school site by implementing age appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; selecting appropriate items in support of classroom instructing and instructing students on the proper use of the library resources. Essential functions include assisting teachers, students, and other personnel for the purpose of identifying resource materials for use in classroom and/or class assignments, conducting classes in a variety of formats, coordinating media requests, distributing books and media, instructing students on the proper use of library resources, maintaining the library in a neat and orderly fashion, monitoring students in the library, performing minor repairs, preparing written materials, processing books, magazines and/or orders, and promoting library use related to special holidays and seasonal activities.
Job requirements include sufficient reading and writing skills, basic arithmetic calculations, understanding commonly used procedures and methods, and operating equipment that requires some training. Problem solving is routine and regularly recurring, requiring attention and concentration, but limited discretion, consideration, and planning. Physical requirements include basic level of learned physical skill, minimal physical exertion, most job time spent sitting with occasional walking, and occasional lifting, guiding, and carrying of lightweight materials or equipment.
Social requirements include ordinary conversational skills, courtesy to exchange routine information, provide routine assistance, and/or help maintain harmony among work associates, and contact with peers in the immediate work group and immediate supervisor.
Experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Certifications/Clearances:
Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card while employed.

Support 9 Months.
