AMI Metering Services Coordinator – City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking qualified individuals for a regular, full‑time AMI Metering Services Coordinator position. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and includes a benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for the utility’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system.
  • Coordinate, analyze, and evaluate the water metering infrastructure and data to enhance system performance and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead and support AMI system activities, including data collection, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience combining meter reading and customer service, including experience with utility billing or related software.
  • Obtain an ADEQ Grade 2 Water Distribution Certification within one year of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Other combinations of experience and training that demonstrate the necessary knowledge and abilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems.
  • Experience with advanced metering and water audit responsibilities.
  • Experience leading teams or projects.
