Job SummaryWe are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team at Loenbro! This individual will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful execution of installations.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive reviews of project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to identify key project elements.
- Utilize industry‑standard estimating software and methodologies to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Analyze project components, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, to develop comprehensive project budgets.
- Prepare and submit competitive and well‑organized bids in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to obtain accurate and up‑to‑date pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
- Evaluate potential risks associated with project execution and incorporate risk mitigation strategies into cost estimates.
- Provide insights into alternative solutions or cost‑saving measures without compromising project quality.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 2‑4 Years experience in estimating, with a focus on commercial projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of the commercial construction industry, as well as estimating aspects within electrical, mechanical, structural as needed.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Climbing up stairs and ladders, and getting in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials up to 50 lbs; 50% of the time on a monthly basis.
- Potential and periodic amounts of time doing the following:
- Walking on uneven terrain.
- Standing.
- Sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Driving and plane travel.
- A valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required, as well as a DMV background records search.
This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
