Key Responsibilities- Implementation of site EHS tasks: manage programs, spearhead required training, ensure accurate collection/interpretation of chemical-use/hazard/risk data, and integrate EHS management systems into facility processes.
- Assist in planning facility changes to meet new environmental requirements; prepare environmental impact statements; apply for new permits and renewals.
- Arrange and ensure the precise collection and calculation of all environmental/safety data across the sites; create, finalize and submit regulatory reports.
- Monitor process owners to assure compliance procedures associated with the reports are being implemented and maintained; identify hazards and analyze risks.
- Create or modify EHS procedures and audit programs to help the site manage and lower its hazards/risks.
- Develop, maintain and deliver EHS training programs to assure applicable parties are trained in required practices.
- Review and interpret EHS regulations impacting the site and propose options that assist with the creation and implementation of compliant processes and procedures.
- Provide guidance to employees/supervisors that develops compliant solutions, new techniques and opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure regulatory permit requirements, reporting data and EHS management system procedures are continuously monitored and updated as changes occur to maintain compliance.
- Support emergency response activities and lead the team; expected to be on‑call for emergencies.
- Interface with regulatory agencies relative to EHS inspections, inquiries and associated corrective action plans; follow up on findings.
- Complete all required submissions for internal and external EHS requests (eg ESG energy usage, OSHA reporting, etc.).
- Support the Site EHS Manager and Corporate EHS Management; work in conjunction with other site EHS team members as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, chemical, engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing‑related environmental, health & safety experience.
- Experience managing all site waste streams.
- Experience determining hazardous materials transportation regulations & shipping requirements.
- Experience identifying hazards, assessing risks and providing options to eliminate or minimize them.
- Proven ability to interpret EHS data and take action.
- Experience writing clear and concise site EHS programs.
- Experience performing EHS gap assessments and prioritizing findings.
- Experience creating or modifying training and conducting training in regulatory compliance topics.
- Experience completing audits, industrial hygiene sampling, ergonomic assessments and safety inspections.
- Partner with site leadership to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability of EHS programs.
- Certifications in EHS (CHMM, CSP, ASP, etc.).
- Comfortable in a hands‑on manufacturing shop floor environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence.
- Ability to communicate, train others and modify standard regulatory training courses with Articulate, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact with all levels within the organization.
- Ability to accomplish tasks in a fast‑paced environment while meeting strict deadlines.
