Responsibilities- Inspection Planning:
Develop complex production & development inspection plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing, assembly & test, engineering procedures, and first article inspections. - Quality Planning:
Plan, develop, implement, and administer cost‑effective and complex Quality Programs, including traceability plans, contamination plans, configuration control plans for hardware and documentation, and other customer‑approved written plans. - Contract Compliance:
Ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements for complex programs, coordinate customer, government, and regulatory agency audits, and flow‑down contract requirements to suppliers and Moog disciplines. - Project Engineering:
Perform non‑routine technical tasks such as product improvement studies, process improvement studies, and development of new systems & procedures, using SPC, regression, statistics, and Design of Experiments. - Training:
Train and educate functional groups in Statistical Process Control, Gauge Variation, Designed Experiments, and program‑specific contractual quality requirements. - Program Support:
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, A & T, vendors, customers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve fabrication and field related problems. - Failure Analysis & Corrective Action:
Conduct complex failure analysis, identify root causes, and implement closed‑loop corrective actions. - Cost Estimates:
Prepare complex quality assurance proposals and related cost estimates; respond promptly to quotation requests, completion estimates, and manpower loading estimates for departmental budget planning. - Quality Liaison:
Act as the program quality liaison for assigned programs, perform product document reviews, compile End Item Data Packs (EIDP), and submit to customers as a contractual deliverable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience; or a Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM field with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of AS9100, ASME Y14.5, IPC‑A‑600, IPC‑A‑610, J‑STD‑000, NASA‑STD‑8739.1, or similar quality management system standards.
- Root Cause Analysis experience using tools such as 8D, 5
Why, Fishbone. - Experience handling product or process non‑conformances in mission‑critical product environments.
- Laboratory environment experience and familiarity with ESD and FOD protocols and handling of hardware and test equipment.
- Experience generating AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
- Lean or Six Sigma experience; certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods for continuous improvement, process monitoring, and problem solving.
- Proficiency with statistical software, spreadsheet, word processing, and database tools.
- TipQA tool knowledge is a plus.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is a plus.
- This position requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
