Position Scope
The Field Engineer role focuses on the installation, technical optimization, and troubleshooting of our equipment located within customer facilities. All customer visits require the execution of a detailed report with observations, impact, and recommendations. The role is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned equipment installation projects. It also involves data generation from field observations, training customer base, developing custom solutions to meet customer needs, and promoting our portfolio of release agents and other consumable products.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing, scheduling, and coordinating field engineering projects. Activities primarily involve inspections, service, and installation of industrial bakery equipment across North America.
- Maintaining, updating, and optimizing equipment to ensure machinery operates at desired customer and OEM specifications.
- Creating detailed inspection reports capturing equipment condition and process efficiency with recommendations in a specific format.
- Interacting with clients to interpret project requirements and designing equipment solutions to meet those needs.
- Working closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering teams to deliver solutions to the customer.
- Communicating with the Field Service Supervisor regarding inspection, service, and installation activities. Involved in all aspects of planning and installation of equipment into the end‑user facility.
- Ensuring installed equipment complies with standards, codes, policies, practices, and specifications, including regulatory and international guidelines and customer requirements.
- Offering off‑site technical support to customers.
- Carrying out all activities safely and professionally, following company procedures to ensure work is properly done and documented.
- Collaborating with the Account Align Team Leader and other team members to ensure alignment on priorities.
- Building and developing new and existing accounts and managing sales opportunities in sync with business and account strategies.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technical Sciences, or a related discipline desired. Mechanical Engineering Degree strongly preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree accepted. 3+ years of experience in field engineering, project management, field operations, or equipment integration.
Knowledge, Skills & Talents- Full‑time position working 5 days per week. Some weekend travel required.
- Flexible schedule available.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with direct, hands‑on applications.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and CAD diagrams.
- Required experience using hand tools and performing electrical wiring in the field.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for 8+ hours.
- Advanced skill in MS Office Suite. Comfortable with data tracking, document preparation, and technical report writing.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. Travel 50%–60% of the time.
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to write technical reports or documents for internal and external use.
- Good interpersonal skills; interfaces substantially within the business and customer base.
- Ability to diagnose electrical and automation problems within equipment and implement solutions.
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs, including basic programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions with minimal supervision, and collaborate effectively as part of a cross‑functional team.
The estimated base pay range for this position is: $80,000 - $95,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short‑term incentive program.
