- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Evaluate and recommend electrical systems and products based on cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on job cost estimates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new product developments, and the price of materials and labor.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement electrical safety standards throughout all stages of project development.
- Provide technical support and advice to project teams, as needed.
- Regularly review and compare actual project costs against estimates and identify reasons for discrepancies.
- Attend site visits, pre‑bid meetings, and client consultations as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Estimating or a similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficient in reading and understanding electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, products, and safety standards.
- Excellent numerical skills and the ability to prepare accurate estimates.
- Familiarity with project management and estimating software.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional certification in electrical estimating or a related field is an added advantage.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have a high level of accuracy.
