Refinery Engineer Manager
We are looking for a hands‑on, well‑rounded Refinery Engineer Manager to join our Kingsland GA team. The role focuses on the oversight of the maintenance department and is heavily project management based.
Responsibilities- Oversight of the maintenance department.
- Assist, manage, and create projects and their budgeted costs.
- Direct, coordinate, and control the activities of the maintenance department, subcontractors, and facility personnel assigned to various projects.
- Determine scope and budget for requests and modify, change, or add equipment as needed.
- Approx. 30‑40% time on‑site (plant) and 60‑70% in the office.
- Assist the Refinery GM in developing a capital projects list for the facility and help develop budget costs for such projects.
- Provide engineering support to the plant maintenance department as needed and coordinate the planning of scheduled outages of major systems.
- Provide engineering support for the design and development of capital projects and assist in obtaining necessary permits.
- Coordinate project activities at the plant level with all involved departments (operations, Shipping & Receiving, management, maintenance, compliance, and Health & Safety).
- Ensure equipment and services procurement complies with regulations and company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
- 5‑7 years of engineering experience in a plant/industrial environment.
- 5‑7 years of project‑management experience.
- 3 years of capital‑projects experience (preferred).
- 3 years of managing a team.
- Working knowledge of CAD programs.
- Understanding of process instrumentation, piping, valves, pumps, materials of construction, coating systems, fire detection and controls, material handling, and building/structure maintenance.
- Refinery experience (preferred).
- Distillation and production experience is a plus.
- Maintenance background is ideal.
- Strong influence and communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Computer savvy – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
- Able to lift up to 50lb, climb, stoop, work at heights, bend, and stand for long periods.
