Position Overview
Edward Jones seeks a financial advisor to develop and grow a client base, leveraging the firm’s training and support. The role involves building relationships, providing personalized financial solutions, and managing branch operations.
Key Responsibilities- Build relationships to create new clients via face‑to‑face and virtual sourcing strategies (residential, business, networking, referrals, social media, speaking engagements).
- Deeply understand client needs, priorities, and concerns to create personalized, comprehensive strategies.
- Oversee branch processes, roles, and responsibilities to ensure a high‑quality, streamlined client experience consistent with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical guidelines.
- Engage the branch team to create, monitor, and adjust the branch business plan to increase effectiveness and achieve results.
- Create a highly engaging environment in the branch that fosters mutual trust, respect, feedback, and accountability.
- Interest in financial services/markets.
- Love of learning and challenges, including determination to succeed.
- Skilled in long‑term relationship building.
- Comfortable critical thinking.
- Passion for new opportunities.
- At least one of the following: bachelor’s degree (preferred), equivalent work‑related experience within the securities/financial services industry, financial services and/or sales experience, financial services registration, licensing, or certification, or professional/military career progression.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and committed to establishing long‑term client relationships.
- Strong communication and client‑service skills.
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 required; registrations can be obtained at Edward Jones during paid study period if not currently registered.
- FINRA registrations required within three months; state insurance licenses required.
- Ongoing training and CE required to maintain licenses in good standing.
Compensation: Trainee pay, supplemental salary for up to five years, commissions, and compensation for new assets during the first five years. 401(k) plan, health savings account, and flexible spending account available. Eligible for bonuses, profit sharing, and travel awards.
