Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant position is responsible for coordinating and assisting the provider to ensure safe, quality and cost‑effective service and care for the people within the practice population. This position will also provide technical clinical services and clerical support for the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, a physician, or a mid‑level practitioner.
*** This position will work on‑site at:Summit Rheumatology in Gilbert, AZ
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collects patient assessment data to include height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint/symptoms, and current medications for assessment by licensed staff
- Prepares the patient for provider evaluation by obtaining specimens, positioning for exams, listing medications, and assisting during exams and procedures
- Maintains work area, exam treatment, and lab in a clean, safe manner; restocks with supplies as needed
- Assists with lab procedures by collecting urine specimens, collecting and preparing blood samples for reference lab; labels all specimens with accurate patient ordered by the physician
- Documents patient information in the medical record to include updated treatment procedures, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns, etc.
- Assists and processes all scripts, referrals, and authorizations as needed
- Manages flow of patient care while ensuring phones are answered and appointments are as efficient as possible
- Schedules patients for injections and infusions
- Orders supplies and medications; checks both into and out of inventory
- Performs diagnostic testing procedures

Qualifications - ExternalRequired Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
- BLS/CPR upon hire
- 1+ years of clinic experience
- Proficiency with MS Outlook
- Current MA Certification
- EMR / ECW

The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
