As

a Surgery Scheduler with Ortho Arizona, you will get to:
  • Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule surgeries.
  • Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Verify necessary information and record information in patients’ medical records.
  • Coordinate necessary equipment, surgical assists, and anesthesia relative to surgeries.
  • Maintain and update physicians’ calendars.
  • Answer telephone calls, screen calls, clear voicemail, and return patient calls in a timely manner.
  • Answer questions regarding patients’ upcoming surgeries.
  • Update patient information.
  • Prepare surgical packet materials.
  • Assist in training and orienting of new staff.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand and perform training on practice management software.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1‑year experience in medical scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling.
