Banner Imaging is seeking a Patient Access Services Representative who will be the first point of contact for patients. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, verifying insurance and exam details, assisting with scheduling and patient calls, burning CDs, processing medical record releases, and collecting co‑pays and payments at the time of service.

This position conducts customer service, registration, point‑of‑service collections, and may validate and/or obtain authorizations from payers to maximize reimbursement. It provides a customer‑oriented interaction with each patient to maximize customer experience, obtains all required consents for each registration, documents all facets of the registration process, loads correct payer(s) into each account, meets accuracy goals, collects payments, performs financial counseling when appropriate, meets productivity targets, and demonstrates the ability to resolve customer issues and provide excellent customer service.
CoreFunctions
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of patient financial services, financial and collections services, or insurance industry experience, normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in common office software: word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
- Employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a behavioral health clinical setting must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at the time of hire.
- CHAA certification.
- Work experience with Banner’s systems and processes.
- Previous cash collections experience.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
