Ophthalmic/Retina Imaging Technician
Part Time and Full Time positions available
As an Ophthalmic/Retina Imaging Technician you love working with patients. You are experienced in conducting Ophthalmic diagnostic testing. You also happen to be organized, and are a master of administrative tasks, which makes you a perfect fit for working in clinical trials. You have pronounced attention to detail and are obsessed with learning. As a lifelong seeker of knowledge you read everything!
Patient care and excellent bedside manner is a top priority for you. When faced with a challenge, you take a breath, grab your resources, and make a plan! Preparation, agendas, and crushing tasks are your jam. You are an eager self-starter who wants to develop a strong foundation to grow. You have previous experience with testing and some previous clinical research experience is preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Diagnostic Testing:
You will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing on patients including, but not limited to fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, OCT, OCTA, fundus photography, FAF, montage imaging, external photos, and ultrasonography (Posterior and anterior B-scans), PDT, and visual field testing. Able to perform peripheral OCT's on specified areas of the retina. - Equipment:
Able to operate different Fundus Cameras;
Topcon, Zeiss, Optos, and Heidelberg. - Knowledge: of basic retinal disease process and understanding of how best to photograph each differently. Must be able to recognize the difference between healthy and concerning areas in order to identify where to photograph.
- Perform: IV access.
- Basic IT skills: to allow for trouble shooting problems with photography equipment.
- Train:
Able to train technicians to perform OCT. - Process important study information:
Understand and have experience reviewing manuals and protocols. - Technology:
Comfortable following manuals to upload imaging in timely manner. - Clinic flow:
Like a clinic ninja, you will manage the task of quickly and efficiently moving patients through protocol assessments. This includes traveling to the 5+ clinics that we work in throughout the Phoenix valley.
- How to engage with patients, deliver excellent customer service, and roll out the red carpet!
- You know your way around a computer, printer, scanner – the basics. You also consider yourself tech savvy and pick up on new platforms quickly.
- How to make the most out of any space; no matter how small. You consider organizing a hobby and probably have a personal label maker.
- Previous experience in ophthalmology.
- You will establish a strong foundation of skills to grow as a Research Imaging Specialist.
- How to cultivate a positive working relationship with all of our customers (Sponsor/CRO & Physician Specialists).
This role reports to our Director of Clinical Research or Site Manager.
Local travel is required.
