Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary

This role coordinates and implements assigned protocols, collects and records medical data and history, assists in patient assessments, and maintains study files for Phase 1‑3 oncology clinical trials.

Core Functions
  • Provides study information, assists in recruitment and screening of volunteers, registers patients, explains protocols, obtains medical history, and updates databases.
  • Performs protocol‑required tasks including patient medical history, systems review, phlebotomy, EKG, cognitive assessment, vital signs, data collection, and quality assurance.
  • Triages adverse events and communicates with the research physician; collects follow‑up information.
  • Provides educational information to patients and families, serving as a consistent support resource.
  • Ensures uniform protocol implementation, completes required documentation, prepares IRB forms, and participates in the IRB approval process.
  • Serves as liaison to other departments, programmatic areas, and community agencies.
  • Ensures timely progress notes are sent to primary referring physicians.
  • May assume primary responsibility in implementation and management of new clinical trials.
  • Qualifications
    • Knowledge of clinical research methodologies obtained by completing a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field.
    • Two to four years of clinical research experience.
    • Familiarity with medical and clinical terminology.
    • Excellent organizational, task‑management, and human‑relations skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and study information.
    • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing practice and institutional policies.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Clinical Research Coordinator certification (CRCC).
    • Additional related education and/or experience.
