Emoti Care Behavioral Health is seeking compassionate, dependable, and energetic Community Youth Mentors to support children, adolescents, and families in their homes, schools, and communities.

As a Behavioral Health Technician – Community Youth Mentor, you will be a positive and consistent presence in the lives of young people. You will help them build coping skills, improve communication, manage emotions, strengthen relationships, and make progress toward their personal and treatment goals.

A FLEXIBLE, CLIENT-FOCUSED SCHEDULE

Our services are scheduled around the needs and availability of youth and families. The position requires flexibility, including afternoon, evening, and weekend appointments as needed.

You will have flexibility in organizing your schedule while remaining responsible for client appointments, timely documentation, assigned services, and productivity expectations. This is an excellent position for someone who works well independently and does not want every workday to look the same.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Mentor and encourage youth as they work toward meaningful personal goals.

  • Provide behavior coaching, life-skills training, family support, and assigned behavioral health services.

  • Meet with clients in their homes, schools, Emoti Care offices, and community locations.

  • Help youth practice coping, communication, social, emotional-regulation, and independent-living skills.

  • Plan purposeful activities that support treatment goals and healthy community involvement.

  • Build professional and supportive relationships with clients, parents, guardians, and caregivers.

  • Communicate and coordinate with families, schools, referral sources, and treatment-team members.

  • Recognize and report changes in client behavior, functioning, or safety.

  • Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral challenges and crisis situations.

  • Complete progress notes and other required documentation accurately and on time.

  • Manage an assigned caseload and maintain consistent contact with clients.

  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, training, and care coordination.

  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and compliance with Emoti Care policies.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The right person for this position is dependable, encouraging, organized, and comfortable working independently. You should enjoy connecting with young people while also maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries.

Qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, psychology, counseling, education, human services, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, families, or individuals with behavioral health needs preferred.

  • Ability to engage, motivate, and positively influence youth.

  • Strong communication, organization, time-management, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule and remain accountable for appointments and responsibilities.

  • Comfort using electronic records and basic workplace technology.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are helpful but not required.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
