Sonora Quest Laboratories seeks a Medical Lab Technician I in Microbiology to perform routine diagnostic testing and support accurate, timely patient results. In this role, you will prepare and process specimens, operate automated and manual microbiology equipment, and document results in advanced laboratory and information systems. You'll collaborate with technologists and pathologists, follow strict quality and safety protocols, and help troubleshoot basic instrumentation issues.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine microbiology testing on patient specimens following established protocols
- Prepare, label, and process specimens to ensure sample integrity and accurate identification
- Operate and maintain automated and manual microbiology instruments and equipment
- Enter and verify test orders and results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately
- Conduct and document quality control procedures and report variances promptly
- Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards (CLIA/CAP/OSHA)
- Communicate critical or abnormal results to providers or senior staff in a timely manner
- Assist in troubleshooting basic test or instrument issues and escalate when needed
- Collaborate with technologists, pathologists, and other lab staff to support workflow
- Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments to maintain technical proficiency
