THE ROLEThe Global Transportation Management System (TMS) Lead is responsible for defining and executing AMD’s enterprise TMS strategy. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of our global TMS platform—from roadmap and architecture through vendor selection, implementation, integration, deployment, and long‑term optimization. You will work across Logistics, IT, Procurement, Finance, Trade Compliance, and regional operations teams to deliver scalable, automated, and data‑driven transportation capabilities that enhance AMD’s global supply chain performance.
This position operates with high autonomy and is a key driver in modernizing AMD’s logistics technology ecosystem, with a strong focus on automation and AI‑enabled capabilities.
You are a technically strong program leader who excels at the intersection of logistics operations, enterprise systems, and data. You bring clarity to ambiguity, communicate effectively at all levels, and drive alignment across diverse global stakeholders. You operate independently, make sound architecture‑level decisions, and prioritize scalable, standardized solutions that deliver measurable business value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead AMD’s global TMS strategy, architecture, and multi‑year roadmap.
- Drive the full TMS vendor selection process, including requirements, RFP execution, evaluation, and final recommendation.
- Serve as the program lead for global TMS implementation, integration, and deployment across regions and transportation modes.
- Partner with IT and technology vendors on system design, integrations (ERP, WMS, data platforms), security, and data architecture.
- Translate logistics and business requirements into functional and technical system specifications.
- Standardize and optimize transportation processes enabled by TMS capabilities while supporting essential regional differences.
- Identify, design, and scale automation and AI‑enabled use cases (e.g., predictive ETAs, exception management, performance insights, cost optimization).
- Establish governance models, KPIs, and operating rhythms that measure system adoption, performance, and business outcomes.
- Lead change management, including stakeholder alignment, training strategy, documentation, and global user adoption.
- Manage post‑deployment lifecycle activities such as enhancements, releases, vendor performance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure TMS processes and data support trade compliance, audit readiness, and internal control requirements.
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or enterprise systems in global, high‑tech, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven success leading enterprise‑scale system implementations (TMS strongly preferred), including vendor evaluation and global rollout.
- Strong technical program management capabilities with experience leading cross‑functional initiatives.
- Solid understanding of transportation operations, carrier management, freight settlement, and logistics data flows.
- Experience with system integrations and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL‑based datasets).
- Exposure to automation, optimization, or AI/ML use cases in supply chain or logistics.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
