Principal Software Engineer – Lead Metrics & Tools Specialist

• Serve as the program’s Jira and metrics subject‑matter expert.
• Define, collect, and analyze execution metrics across multiple engineering teams.
• Configure Jira backlogs, workflows, boards, and dashboards for accurate execution tracking.
• Build automated dashboards and data pipelines to reduce manual reporting.
• Partner with Program Management and Finance to align execution, schedule, and budget data.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights and train teams on metric use and tooling.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience with data collection, data mining, and performance tracking for large engineering programs.
• Experience automating data extraction and reporting workflows.
• Experience in Jira including JQL, Structures, Rich Filters, subscriptions, dashboards, multi‑board setups and similar.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Demonstrates expertise in Jira configuration, data collection, and performance tracking to enhance execution metrics across engineering teams. Capable of building automated dashboards and data pipelines while providing actionable insights and training to teams.
