Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Job Description
You help implement the operational excellence program in a specific function and/or for cross‑functional continuous improvement projects. You are responsible for applying CI tools and techniques for problem solving and performance improvement, and you help employees improve their CI skills and build self‑sufficiency.
How You Will ContributeYou will:
- Provide training on CI tools and techniques to help teams through CI cycles and coach employees to help them achieve targets.
- Identify process improvement needs with department leads, facilitate sessions, and support execution of newly established improvements.
- Validate outcome benefits after improvements are complete and support the creation of new standards and the qualification of members into new working processes.
- Benchmark externally, ensuring best practices and new tools are deployed in collaboration with internal partners.
- Experience implementing CI processes (e.g., TPM for manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma in the consumer goods industry).
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience in change‑management processes.
- Logical thinking and capacity to influence.
- Results oriented and prepared to deal with ambiguity.
- Experience such as continuous improvement manager, team leader roles, or area manager.
This role is pivotal in supporting regional DSD operations by driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing safety and productivity of the delivery fleet. The position involves strategic planning, field engagement, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration to optimize delivery processes and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Education / CertificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Transportation, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications in transportation safety, fleet management, or continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
Job Specific RequirementsExtensive experience (10+ years preferred) in logistics operations, fleet management, transportation safety, or a similar role within a DSD or comparable distribution network. Proven track record of improving operational KPIs and ensuring compliance.
Travel Requirements50–75% travel required with regular regional site visits for assessments, training, and operational oversight.
Work SchedulePrimarily flexible, with core availability aligned to regional business needs and occasional extended hours as required.
Salary and BenefitsBase salary range: $122,000 – $167,750, depending on experience, skills, education, and location. This position is eligible for a competitive bonus program with opportunity for over achievement. Benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, education programs, paid holidays, and vacation time. Some benefits have eligibility requirements and are subsidized or fully paid by the company.
