Project Manager – Parks Department

Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a passion for building spaces that bring communities together? Our client, a highly reputable civil contractor in the Greater Phoenix area, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the construction of parks, recreational facilities, sports fields, and open spaces. With a strong pipeline of work and a team-oriented culture, this opportunity offers the chance to deliver meaningful projects that serve the public for years to come.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in parks, sports fields, or recreational construction
  • Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar site development or public works projects
  • Strong understanding of earthwork, utilities, irrigation, landscaping, lighting, and synthetic/natural turf systems
  • Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive results
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for parks, sports fields, and open space development projects
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients to ensure compliance with specifications and expectations
  • Lead project teams including engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Review and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical documents
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost controls
  • Ensure timely communication with stakeholders and internal teams
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce site safety standards
