Community Outreach, Facilities Use & Recreation Coordinator (SY 26/27)
Under administrative direction, provides leadership and direction to the District’s community outreach which supports the continuous improvement of successful co‑curricular programs.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Works collaboratively with administration to effectively implement and sustain community involvement with District programs.
- Works collaboratively with administration to effectively implement fine arts, athletics and club activities in coordination with community use requests.
- Coordinates facilities use requests with District sites.
- Serves as District liaison with outside staff, personnel, administration, community members, etc. Facilitates meetings with outside entities as needed.
- Builds and maintains community relationships and networks to support the District programs.
- Maintains a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
- Collaborates with District athletic coordinator(s) to design professional development for coaches. Facilitates training for community youth coaches.
- Coordinates and/or conducts community events that promote and/or fundraise for District programs and initiatives.
- Supervises, trains, prepares work schedules, and assigns tasks for facility staff. Observes, evaluates, and provides work performance feedback to facility staff.
- Coordinates with the District facilities department for the setup and breakdown of equipment, gymnasiums, press box, score tables, and PA system for community events. Supervises staff and facility security.
- Communicates regularly with the District facilities department to insure the continuous upkeep of District fields and facilities.
- Submits and monitors an annual budget for community facilities. Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Attends periodic meetings and develops and/or implements Action Plans as needed.
- Submits timely and necessary local, state and federal reports as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of work experience, which includes supervisory/management/leadership experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required License and Certification:
- CPR/First Aid.
Required Knowledge of:
- District, School Board, and Department policies and procedures.
- Principles and practices of effective project management, leadership, supervision, and training.
- Various types and proper uses of maintenance and athletic equipment.
- Practices and methods involved in providing quality customer service.
Required Skills in:
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
- Planning and administering athletic programs and activities.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard software such as Microsoft Office and some specialized software; functioning standard office equipment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment as well as outdoors.
- May occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel and represent the District.
- Ability to accommodate flexible hours and work days.
Position Type: Full‑Time
Salary: $43,157 to $56,626 Per Year
