Mechanic D - Gilbert

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and/or Supervisor, the Mechanic D is responsible for the care and maintenance of the site and production manufacturing equipment.

• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) for production, packaging, processing equipment and utility systems.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with the required information documented in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analyzes Critical Control Points (HACCP), and follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

• High School Diploma required;
  
  Formal Engineering/Maintenance Training desired.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in a variety of equipment, including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, gas systems, liquid propane, boilers, and refrigeration is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

• Required to maneuver plant and warehouse work spaces which involve:
• Continually standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing, work around loud machinery and moving parts, utilize hand and finger dexterity, exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet, and/or humid conditions (non-weather), to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and lift up to fifty pounds safely.
