About the Role
Join a pioneering team at the forefront of human space exploration, national defense, and scientific innovation. As a Harness Technician, you'll be instrumental in assembling and fabricating advanced space flight cable and harness assemblies, directly supporting missions that connect and protect millions. Based in Gilbert, AZ, this 2nd shift position (3:00pm-12:30am, 9/80 schedule) offers a professional, collaborative environment where curiosity and excellence are celebrated.
Responsibilities
- Interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to perform precise point-to-point assembly of wire harnesses and subassemblies.
- Fabricate and assemble complex cable harnesses using harness boards, tie-in cables, soldering, and hand tools in accordance with government and NASA standards.
- Execute hands-on electrical/mechanical assembly tasks independently or as part of a skilled team.
- Build and lay out harness boards, mix and apply bonding agents, and encapsulate assemblies per specification.
- Maintain strict adherence to ESD and FOD protocols, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Perform equipment upkeep and report discrepancies promptly to support continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- For Level 2:
Minimum 3 years of education and/or relevant experience, with at least 2 years in electrical assembly and wiring.
- For Level 3:
Minimum 6 years of education and/or relevant experience, with at least 5 years in electrical assembly and wiring.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret detailed wiring diagrams and drawings.
- Proven experience with soldering, crimping, and use of hand tools for assembly.
- Capability to achieve certification to IPC WHMA-A-620 and NASA-J-STD.
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude (Level
3).
- ESD awareness (Level
3).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Level
3).
Preferred Skills
- Graduate from a technical trade school.
- Current certifications: IPC WHMA-A-620, NASA-J-STD.
- Familiarity with MES applications for workflow and documentation.
