Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cable & Wire Harness Technician 1/2 – First Shift to support our Tactical Space Systems Division located in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves fabrication and assembly of complex space flight cable and harness assemblies from drawings, schematics, wire lists, or engineering sketches in conformance with government specifications and workmanship standards. Assembly is performed in a professional atmosphere in an ESD and FOD awareness area.
Daily work attire includes lab coat and latex gloves. Regular use of soldering iron, tweezers, heat gun, and other common hand tools.
- Capable and experienced in working in a broad-based manufacturing environment.
- Work with a team including Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance Representatives, and Production Planners. Report to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Work well alone and within a team environment.
- Possess good problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, work with limited supervision.
- Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and a team player.
- Have the ability to focus and strong attention to detail.
- No heavy lifting required; equal standing and sitting with some reaching.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 0-2 years of experience with soldering, cable and harness or soldering (Tech 1 or Tech
2). - Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and process documentation.
- Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience.
- Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Creo.
- Strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing, and assembly techniques as it applies to IPC standard harness assembly operations.
- Familiarity with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control.
- Preference for candidates with NASA J-STD and/or IPC 620 certifications with Space Addendums.
