Aviation Sheet Metal Mechanic
Location: Gilbert, AZ (Direct Placement)
OverviewThis role supports the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft structural components in a back‑shop/repair station environment. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, fabricating, and reassembling sheet metal structures and landing gear assemblies in compliance with FAA and company standards. This position offers a contract‑to‑hire path based on performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and structural repairs in accordance with technical manuals, blueprints, and FAA regulations
- Inspect aircraft components for cracks, corrosion, bird strike damage, and other defects
- Execute sheet metal repairs, including patchwork, fabrication, riveting, and structural modifications
- Disassemble and reassemble landing gear and other structural assemblies in an MRO environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve structural or mechanical issues using testing tools and inspection data
- Install and replace defective or recalled components to required tolerances and specifications
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using Microsoft Office or similar systems
- Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and repair station safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow efficiency and repair quality
- Support general shop operations and additional duties as needed
- Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years in aircraft sheet metal/structures
- Level II: 3–5 years | Level III: 5+ years
- Required:
MRO or Part 145 repair station experience (back shop environment)
- Technical
Skills:- Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and landing gear systems
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Experience with fabrication, riveting, and structural repair/modification
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, inspections, and component reassembly
- Experience with Boeing and/or Airbus platforms preferred
- Additional Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar systems
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Solid teamwork, problem‑solving, and mechanical aptitude
- Air‑conditioned MRO/back shop setting (no line maintenance)
- Hands‑on structural repair and overhaul work
- Standard schedules:
- Mon–Thurs or Tues–Fri, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

The pay range for this position is $64,480.00 - $91,520.00/yr.
