As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC equipment used to manufacture high-precision components for aerospace, defense, and other advanced manufacturing industries. Candidates with experience on Swiss CNC machines are strongly encouraged to apply; however, machinists with experience on CNC lathes, mills, or multi-axis equipment will also be considered. Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machining equipment to produce parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and metrology equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency and workplace organization.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment concerns to leadership.
- Accurately document production information and maintain required records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating or setting up CNC machinery preferred.
- Experience with Swiss CNC machines, CNC lathes, mills, multi-axis machining centers, or related equipment is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates with machining education, technical training, or strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manufacturing documentation.
- Understanding of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete production documentation.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Swiss CNC machining experience.
- Experience working with tight tolerances in aerospace, medical device, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with CNC machine setup, offsets, tool changes, and troubleshooting.
