PGS Worldwide is seeking a Cable and Harness Technician in Gilbert, AZ for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Cable and Harness Technician will support harness manufacturing by building cable and harness products for aerospace and space applications. This role includes reading work instructions, schematics, wire lists, and drawings; performing electrical assembly and wiring; maintaining hardware quality; and ensuring work is completed accurately according to procedures, schedules, and assigned tasks.
Required Skills
• High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of additional education and/or relevant experience in assembly, electronics, manufacturing, production, or logistics.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical assembly and wiring.
• Experience reading drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, wire lists, and drawings.
• Must be capable of successfully completing certification to IPC/WHMA-A-620 for cable and wire harness assembly.
• Must be capable of successfully completing NASA-J-STD certification.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• ESD experience.
• Crimping experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to follow operation sheets, ISO procedures, schedules, and assigned tasks.
• Ability to maintain completeness, accuracy, and quality of work.
Preferred Skills
• Graduate of a technical trade school.
• Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
• Current NASA-J-STD certification.
• Other electronics assembly or workmanship certifications.
• Experience with MES applications, including workflow, signoff, and documentation.
What You’ll Do
• Manufacture cable and harness products.
• Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, wire lists, and drawings.
• Perform electrical assembly and wiring work.
• Support harness manufacturing operations in an onsite production environment.
• Ensure hardware quality is maintained throughout the assembly process.
• Follow company procedures, operation sheets, ISO procedures, and schedules.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and thoroughly.
• Communicate regularly with shop leads and Work Center management.
• Provide status updates and communicate technical issues as needed.
• Support production of reliable aerospace and space hardware.
Work Schedule / Shift
• 2nd shift.
• 3:00 PM - 12:30 AM.
• 9/80 schedule.
Pay
• $51.13 per hour
