THEOPPORTUNITY
We’re looking for a people-first leader who thrives on building relationships, solving problems, and making things happen. The right person for this role doesn’t wait to be told what needs doing, they see it and they handle it. You’ll be the connective tissue between our volunteers, staff, community partners, and the clients we serve.
This is a part-time leadership role (up to 30 hours per week) reporting directly to the Executive Director. You’ll oversee daily operations, grow community partnerships, support fundraising, and help ensure every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed and served well.
WHAT A GREAT DAY LOOKS LIKEYou arrive and check in with your team and discuss the day’s priorities. Services open at 9am and you are off and running for the day. A new community partner stopped by, so you take them on a quick tour and get details about a clothing drive they want to organize. A client situation needs your calm, empathetic touch. You review service numbers from the week and spot a trend or a story worth sharing with the Executive Director.
Before you leave you make a plan for a large donation of socks coming in later this week and move some donated out‑of‑season jackets to our storage area marked and ready for next season. No two days are exactly alike, and that’s what keeps you energized.
- You’re the person who remembers everyone’s name and asks how the grandkid’s visit was.
- You don’t wait for instructions, you see what needs to happen and you make it happen
- You’re comfortable navigating difficult client situations with empathy, patience, and a steady presence
- You energize a room and make volunteers want to come back week after week
- You genuinely like people—all kinds of people—and it shows in how you lead
- You can toggle between big-picture strategy and rolling up your sleeves to get things done
- Supervise and coach the Volunteer Manager and Friends Boutique Manager as well as day‑to‑day volunteers
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, donors, and event partners
- Identify new partnership opportunities to expand our reach and the services available to clients
- Represent the organization at community events
- Problem‑solve complex client situations that require management‑level intervention
- Support crisis intervention and ensure consistent, compassionate service delivery
- Oversee daily operations of Clothes Cabin and Friends Resale Boutique
- Monitor service statistics, inventory levels, and operational metrics
- Implement process improvements and maintain quality standards
- Coordinate clothing drives, in‑kind donation campaigns, and surplus sharing partnerships
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
- Assist the Executive Director with grant reporting, donor outreach and relationship management
- Collect and analyze program data to support grant deliverables and outcomes reporting
- Help plan and execute fundraising events
Coordinate special projects and organizational initiatives
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 2–3 years of experience in operations management, social services, volunteer coordination, or a related field
- Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff and…
