Position: UACE Graham County 4 H Program Assistant

UACE Graham County 4 H Program Assistant

The Ameri Corps Volunteer will assist with recruiting and promoting 4-H youth and community volunteer participation, network with other community agencies, contribute to 4-H social networking sites, and may be asked to help with planning and preparing for group lessons and activities. Special emphasis will be communication with staff, members and project leaders (volunteers) by creating and sending friendly weekly reminders via text and or email, maintaining the 4-H calendar, creating and maintaining a monthly newsletter.

Additional duties may include gathering necessary materials and supplies for various teaching methods to promote learning and implementing activities. Schedule may vary based on programming needs and may require member to attend and help at various monthly afternoon, evening or Saturday meetings, activities and events.

Member Duties
  • Create & send friendly reminders to members and volunteers.
  • Update & contribute to 4-H social media & websites.
  • Create & maintain newsletter.
  • Create & maintain an annual 4-H calendar.
  • Create promotional materials as needed for various programs.
  • Assist with gathering necessary materials & supplies.
  • Assist with developing & collecting evaluations.
  • Assist staff & volunteers with the Showmanship Showdown.
  • Assist staff & volunteers at County Fair.
  • Assist in developing, and delivery of 4-H educational activities, projects & programs.
  • Provide occasional assistance to staff and leaders with afternoon, evening & Saturday, meetings, activities and events.
  • Explore & coordinate partnering opportunities with other related organizations.
