Ortho Arizona Surgery Center Gilbert is seeking a PRN RN OR Circulator.

Ortho Arizona Surgery Center Gilbert is a single‑specialty outpatient surgery practice that specializes in orthopedic surgery. Our surgery center is a joint venture between local physicians and USPI, the nation's largest provider of surgical services.

A circulating nurse operates as a go‑between for the operating room staff and the rest of the surgery center. They are not scrubbed in. A circulating nurse does the initial assessment of the patient as he/she is wheeled into the operating room and makes sure that the patient is comfortable. The circulating nurse also assists the surgeon and scrub nurse as they clean up and prepare for the surgery.

During the surgery, circulating nurses hand packages of supplies to the scrub nurse as necessary. If something is required from outside of the room, or if the surgeon needs a message passed on to another staff or family member, it falls to a circulating nurse.

After the surgery, the circulating nurse counts opened packages and used supplies to ensure the numbers add up correctly and to verify that no supplies were left inside the patient. They are a vital member of the surgical team and ensure patient safety.

• Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and hold a current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Arizona.
• Current American Heart ACLS and PALS certification required.
• Minimum 2+ years experience working as a circulator required.
• BSN preferred.
