Registered Nurse, OCC Infusion Gilbert Per Diem
Responsibilities- Work one shift per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; possibility of increasing to 2–3 days per week.
- Initiate, monitor, and complete intravenous or intramuscular therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, pre‑medications, and hydration.
- Provide care for patients with IV lines, central lines, and ports.
- Administer and monitor blood products safely.
- Demonstrate competence in chemotherapy administration through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification.
- Assess and recognize normal and abnormal responses to treatments and institute appropriate interventions.
- Assess and intervene in life‑threatening situations.
- Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner, and monitor patients for side effects.
- Collect blood specimens and blood cultures.
- Minimum of one year experience in chemotherapy infusion.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card within 30 days of hire and renewal every two years.
