Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care

The Department of Neurology at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, in collaboration with Banner – University Medicine Tucson, seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join our Neurocritical Care Unit at Banner University Medical Center Tucson (BUMCT). The role supports inpatient care in a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center. The ideal candidate has prior inpatient and acute care experience, though we encourage and provide on‑job training for those without such experience.

A background in neuroscience or critical care is preferred, as is a team‑based approach to caring for critically ill patients.

As an APP, the candidate will:

• Clinical management of patients
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
• Interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications
• Provide education to patients and staff

Qualifications:

• Full‑time, 12‑hour shifts (nights/weekends included)
• Current acute care nurse practitioner board certification
• ENLS training preferred (can be completed within 1 month of hire)
