Position Summary

Gilbert, Arizona. Department:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Hospital. Shift: Day 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, three 12‑hour shifts, with weekend rotations and a $3/hour weekend differential. Eligible for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus with at least 12 months of RN experience, requiring one‑year commitment. The unit is a 84‑bed cardiac monitored unit providing care to a diverse, higher‑acuity patient population. The RN works as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient‑centered care and clinical excellence.

Shift

& Compensation

3×12‑hour shift schedule with weekend rotations. Flat rate $3/hour weekend differential. Sign‑on bonus: $10,000 (eligible with 12 months’ RN experience, requires 1‑year commitment).

Responsibilities

Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history, physical, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reports abnormal results, and completes assessment and reassessments as outlined in policy.

Formulates a patient‑specific plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from family and health team. Sets realistic, measurable goals and revises the plan as patient needs change.

Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities. Provides care based on physician orders and nursing plan, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision to other licensed nurses and personnel.

Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed. Monitors progress toward goals and effectiveness of patient teaching.

Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy and reflects objective/subjective data, interventions and patient response.

Provides evidence‑based care, participates in research activities within clinical practice, contributes to unit or facility shared leadership, and mentors and precepts staff and students as appropriate.

Contributes to society through activities that improve patient outcomes and participates in professional organizations to advance nursing quality indicators and outcomes.

Supervises staff and manages workflow of the department when required.

Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, including other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, and clergy for spiritual support.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or appropriate temporary/interim/compact RN licensure.
BLS certification required.
Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired.
Maintains clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area through annual validations.
For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions, at least one year of acute‑care hospital experience and at least 12 months of RN experience in the specialty area within the past year.
For Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions, at least one year of RN experience in a physician practice or acute‑care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
