RN Pre Op/PACU
Center for Advanced Surgery is hiring a full‑time RN Pre Op/PACU to provide patient care in a fast‑paced, ambulatory surgery center. The role requires coordinating care for patients of any age in the Pre‑operative and Post‑anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and ensuring adherence to nursing standards and center policies.
Job SummaryPlans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients in Pre‑op and PACU departments. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center, makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs, and communicates appropriate information to other team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the manager, including committee service, quality improvement audits, and projects.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Know and adhere to policies of the Center and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
- Follow policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for perioperative nursing care according to accepted standards.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate pre‑ and post‑operative nursing care for patients based on individual needs and physician orders.
- Organize and prepare medical records, document care appropriately, and follow up on missing data and other patient care needs.
- Maintain current skills and knowledge of IV therapy, medication administration, patient assessment, airway maintenance, teaching, and emotional/social support of patients and families.
- Remain calm and function as a team member during times of stress and crisis situations.
- Seek involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
- Actively participate in appropriate committee and CQI activities.
- Follow OSHA and other standards for protection against blood‑borne pathogens.
- Use good body mechanics.
- Inform the Preop/PACU Manager of applicable day‑to‑day situations.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse with current state licensure.
- CPR, advanced life support (ACLS) certification, and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification required.
- One year experience preferred in perioperative setting.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
- Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of the position.
