Job Summary
Location:
Deer Valley, Phoenix, AZ. Shift: Night. Department:
Medical/Surgical Unit-4P2-Surgical Care.
Sign on bonus available.
Responsibilities- Guide nursing practice according to ANA standards and ethics.
- Document patient history, symptoms, and test results; analyze findings.
- Operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and manage IV lines.
- Develop and execute patient care plans, including medication administration, therapy, and monitoring.
- Educate patients and families on illness management, post‑treatment care, diet, nutrition, and exercise.
- Direct licensed practical nurses and nursing aides; delegate tasks appropriately.
- Precept new hires and students; facilitate competency attainment.
- Continuously enhance nursing knowledge and skills in patient care management.
- Support clinical knowledge advancement by serving as a preceptor and mentor.
- Provide patient and family care that meets physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs.
- Collect and prioritize health data systematically and involving family when appropriate.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop evidence‑based, family‑centered care plans.
- Identify individualized outcomes and implement interventions, including medications and emergency measures.
- Document observations, interventions, and therapeutic measures in a retrievable format.
- Continuously evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the care plan, adjusting to enhance patient outcomes.
- Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards and relevant regulations.
- Integrate ethical principles and cultural competencies into all aspects of practice.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care.
- Develop and evaluate evidence‑based standards of care, facilitating adoption of best practices.
- Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
- Diploma or ADN:
Complete a BSN within 60 months of hire OR have 5+ years of RN experience. - Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing:
Required. - Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN):
Preferred. - If directly responsible for stroke patient care, refer to stroke‑specific education requirements prior to start.
- Minimum 10 months in med‑surg or acute specialty setting.
- Minimum 1 year RN experience for all float positions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona required upon hire.
- National certification for unit‑specific patient populations preferred.
