Location and Shift

Four Peaks Medical Center - 1301 S Crismon Rd, Mesa, AZ 85209

Shift: Day; 4x10-hour shifts; call required. Must live within 30 minute radius of 1301 S Crismon Rd.

Sign-on Bonus: $20,000 available.

Job Summary

The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurse and Code of Ethics. The RN records patients’ medical history and symptoms, helps perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operates medical equipment, administers treatment and medications, and assists with patient follow‑up and rehabilitation. The RN establishes or contributes to a care plan that may include medication administration, IV line management, therapies, observation, and consulting with physicians and other clinicians.

The RN teaches patients and families how to manage illnesses or injuries, explain post‑treatment and home care needs, and administer medications and therapies. The RN provides direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides, supports clinical knowledge advancement, precepts new hires and students, and assists staff in completing competency tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Collect health data systematically and prioritize based on patient needs.
  • Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses and develop an appropriate, family‑centered, evidence‑based care plan.
  • Implement interventions, including treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures per standing orders.
  • Provide nursing care that meets physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs using a family‑centered approach.
  • Document observations, interventions, therapeutic measures, and other relevant data in a retrievable form.
  • Evaluate patient progress toward outcomes, adjust care plans, and maintain quality and efficacy.
  • Maintain current knowledge in nursing practice and evaluate own practice against standards.
  • Integrate ethical principles, culture, and diversity considerations into practice.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Participate in evidence‑based research to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.
  • Consider safety, effectiveness, and cost when planning and delivering care.
Education

Must have a Bachelor’s in nursing (BSN) preferred. All Diploma or ADN hires must complete a BSN within 60 months or have 5+ years of RN experience at hire time. Associates or Diploma in Nursing acceptable; staff with direct responsibility for stroke patients must meet stroke‑specific education requirements.

Experience

Required:

>10 months in a med‑surg or acute specialty setting; 1 year RN experience for all float positions.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona required upon hire.
  • National certification for unit‑specific patient population preferred.
Other

Additional required items: licensing and specialized certifications as per unit; BSL training as required.
