Position Summary
This role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. The nurse is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by themselves or others they supervise. The position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
Schedule4 10 hour shifts 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Day off subject to change
Core Functions- Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; reviews patient history and physical with patient/family; completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and policy.
- Formulates a plan of care, including discharge plan; initiates and revises care plans based on assessment data, patient‑specific needs, and team input; sets realistic, measurable goals.
- Implements the plan through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of health care team; ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluates patient and family response to care and teaching; revises plan of care as needed; evaluates progress toward goals.
- Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensures documentation is legible, timely, and in accordance with policy.
- Provides evidence‑based care; participates in research activities within clinical practice; engages in shared leadership; mentors and educates facility personnel, patients and families.
- Contributes to activities that improve patient outcomes; participates in professional organizations.
- Current, valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact) and BLS certification.
- Experience in the clinical area for which applying is desired; must have worked in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a RN in the specialty area.
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting for Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions.
- For travel physician practice positions, minimum of one year experience as RN in a physician practice or acute care setting.
- For Home Health roles, must operate personal vehicle, possess valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.
- Behavioral health staff in Arizona must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit at the time of hire and maintain throughout employment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
