Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Gilbert, AZ

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care for telemetry and medical/surgical patients held in the ED awaiting inpatient bed placement, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Read, interpret, and respond to cardiac monitor strips independently, as no monitor technician is available on the unit.
• Titrate and adjust cardiac drips (including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone) per physician orders and established parameters.
• Assist with ED support tasks including vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration as needed; will not serve as primary RN for ED patient assignments.
• Float to med/surg, telemetry, and overflow units at assigned campuses as needed.
• Participate in weekend rotation (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule) and rotate holiday coverage with permanent staff.

• Active RN license valid in the state of Arizona.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong cardiac telemetry background with a minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; must demonstrate ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips.
• Demonstrated experience titrating cardiac drips per physician orders and clinical parameters.
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam (maximum of 2 attempts) prior to start date.
• Must pass a Simulation Lab (SIM Lab) competency assessment on the first day of orientation.

• Prior experience in a telemetry-focused role with exposure to a higher volume of telemetry patients versus general medical/surgical patients.
• Familiarity with ED workflows and experience supporting emergency department patient care activities.

• Enjoy a self-scheduling model offering flexibility in shift selection within a structured 12-hour night shift framework.
• Work in a dynamic environment supported by ED PCTs, with no ventilator management required, allowing focus on telemetry and cardiac patient care.
